HUMAN RIGHTS HERE is seeking editors!

The blog Human Rights Here (HRH), rooted within the Netherlands Network for Human Rights Research (NNHRR), is seeking (a) new editor(s) who would like to join our passionate and energetic team. HRH was established in December 2019 and has grown significantly in its popularity, with weekly postings. We are in the fortunate circumstance of needing to expand our Editorial Team!

We are seeking qualified, diligent human rights scholars (PhD researcher or higher level) to review the submissions to the blog. The administrative tasks of the blog are currently managed by a team of students. The tasks of our new editor(s) would consist primarily of review with recommended revisions, with some additional responsibilities related to outreach strategies and partnership development.

The workload is approximately 2-3 hours per week. Proficiency in English is required. In accordance with the mission of Human Rights Here to build a bridge between academia and practitioners, a background in -- or close proximity to -- human rights practice is highly appreciated. The candidate should be affiliated with a Dutch university but need not be based in the Netherlands. In order to complement the thematic expertise of the current members of the Editorial Board, we would particularly welcome candidates with an expertise in Business and Human Rights, AI and Digital Technologies and Human Rights, Environment and Human Rights, or Rights of Women, Elderly Persons, or Persons with Disabilities. We nonetheless encourage those with an expertise outside of these topics, who are interested in the position to also apply.

Interested candidates are kindly requested to submit a Motivation Letter (max. 700 words) and a CV by April 23rd, 2021. Please send your materials to [humanrightshere@asser.nl] using the subject line "HRH Editor Application". We anticipate taking a decision by May 7th.
